Reflection on my Performance of Close Every Door To Me

I feel that I have definitely improved since my mock performance. I was able to sing the song to a much higher standard, being able to sing the song without the need of distortion on any of the belting notes which in turn made the piece sound much more sorrowful and true to the original version of the song. I also think that I made a great deal of improvement on my characterisation within the piece, as I was able to stay in character throughout the entire performance and I never broke focus from my performance.  In order to improve on these aspects of my performance, I made sure to rehearse the song a number of times. This ensured that I got comfortable with singing the song without use of distortion in my voice and I could also practise being fully focused while performing. Overall I feel that my performance was successful. I think that I have definitely improved on aspects of my performance that I identified last time, in particular I made great progress on singing the piece with much cleaner vocals especially during the belting notes of the piece at 1:31 and 3:21. I also fully performed the piece in the character of Joseph, I was able to add a level of sobbing to my voice to add more emotion to the piece; I also managed to develop my characterisation in my physicality especially through my posture and use of levels. I also feel that I managed to improve a great deal on my breath control and my overall characterisation from my last performance, making the piece feel much more impactful and emotional However, I do feel I still need to improve on my vocals during the belting parts in particular.
