Describe the range of activities below. You should include the duration of each exercise, reasons/justifications for selection and any changes/additions you make to the plan as time goes on (this could be effectively shown using different colours). **Feel free to add or delete activity numbers as you see fit.** | |
Activity 1 | Timed breaths exercise – 1:30 I will use this exercise in order to increase oxygen levels and to prepare me to sing. I will perform this exercise first to make me feel calm and focused ready for to perform. This exercise consists of breathing in, holding my breath and exhaling for a number of seconds. |
Activity 2 | Diction tongue twisters – 2:00 This exercise will be used to warm up the muscles in my face and also to prepare myself to sing with clearer diction than I would usually in my daily speech. This exercise consists of performing tongue twisters |
Activity 3 | Sirening – 1:30 This exercise is the first to properly help me warm up my vocal chords in a soft and safe way before I start singing. This exercise involves softly sliding up and down my vocal range allowing me to begin warming up in a slow and calm way to give my voice time to prepare. |
Activity 4 | Belting Sirening – 2:00 This exercise is to help me prepare for any of the louder or harsher vocals in this performance. I will be once again sliding up and down my vocal range but changing the dynamics throughout in order to aid me in preparation for the loud vocals and the points in the song where belting is required. |
