This week, we performed our first full run through of Six. This was incredibly successful, we were able to complete the performance accurately without the need to stop. We have greatly improved on our characterisation and our volume throughout all of the songs and as a result the entire performance had much more energy and vigor to it.
Personally, I have definitely improved on my use of vocals and movement at the same time. This became apparent to me when I was tasked with singing the song "Get Down" while performing the normal movements I would as a backup dancer; this highlighted how much easier it is for me to sing and dance now. My breath control has greatly improved compared to my performances earlier on in the rehearsal process.
However, I do feel that we still need to improve on our characterisation in the final number. This includes our use of facial expressions and overall body language, this song is quite different to the other songs within the play as it is a much more positive and upbeat song and as a result we need a much high level of energy than with the other songs earlier on in the piece.
I also feel that I need to improve on executing the movements more accurately in The MegaSIX song as they are much faster than in previous pieces and require a higher level of accuracy.
